We know that prayer is communication with a living Person,
not a ritual or an empty set of words. We consider it a
privilege to speak openly and simply to our loving Heavenly
Father as Jesus taught us to do.
We are committed to become a praying people, more and more.
Our vision is to be truly a "house of prayer"-
a people that sees prayer as our first response, not our
last resort. We want everything we do to grow out of prayer
and be saturated in prayer. We pray whenever we get together
for any purpose: in "official" meetings, in small
groups, or on the phone. We talk with our Father before
we undertake any project, when we need to make decisions,
when someone we are sick or in trouble, when we need ideas,
or when we have mountains in our lives that need moving.
We pray for each other, we pray for our country, we pray
for the world. We tell God that we love Him, that we need
Him, that we desire His will and protection and intervention
in this world.
If
you have a prayer need, send an email to prayer@vcfbarn.com
to have others join with you in your request to God. Church
members can ask that a request be publicized to our church
family for unified prayer. If you are a member reading this,
please take a moment to ask for God's grace on the pastors
and other leaders of this church.
We currently have a prayer room set up in the lower level
of the Barn that is available at any time for those who
want to come and pray privately or in small groups. We have
weekly times of intercession in homes. Periodic emails are
sent to our church family containing requests and needs
from members. We are in the process of developing a prayer
strategy that will strengthen all that is currently in place
and add new aspects as God leads us.
